How the Brain Works—and Why It Matters
This course offers an engaging exploration of the human brain—how it works, how it adapts, and how it shapes the way we move, think, feel, and learn across the lifespan. Participants will examine the brain as a dynamic, interconnected system rather than a static organ. Through clear explanations and relatable metaphors, the course explores neural networks, prediction and movement, emotion and memory, learning and plasticity, and the ways different brain regions collaborate to guide everyday behavior. Emphasis is placed on how experience, environment, stress, and connection influence the brain’s functioning and capacity to grow. (2 hours)
