Visual Supports in the Early Childhood Classroom
Visual supports are powerful tools that help children make sense of their world, communicate their needs, and engage more confidently in daily routines. This course explores how visual supports can be used effectively with children on the autism spectrum, while also highlighting their value for supporting all learners in early childhood settings. Participants will learn about the role of visual supports in fostering independence, reducing anxiety, and promoting inclusion. We will examine different types of visual supports, like schedules and environmental cues, and discuss how each can be tailored to meet diverse developmental needs. (2 hours)
