Grief in the Workplace: Supporting Others and Caring for Yourself
Grief does not pause when work resumes. It can affect focus, communication, energy, and emotional regulation, often in ways that are difficult to name or manage. Most workplaces are not designed with grief in mind, leaving coworkers unsure how to respond and individuals who are grieving feeling isolated. Whether you are supporting a coworker through loss or personally navigating grief while at work, the experience can feel overwhelming and uncertain.
This course provides practical, compassionate guidance for both roles. Participants learn how grief may show up in the workplace, how to support a grieving coworker with empathy while honoring boundaries, and how to care for themselves when they are the ones experiencing loss. Through real-world examples and reflection activities, the course builds confidence, strengthens communication, and helps create workplaces that are more supportive, psychologically safe, and human during times of grief.
