Defining Neurodivergence: Rethinking Differences in Learning
Neurodivergence is a concept that challenges traditional ideas of what it means to think, learn, and behave “typically.” This course explores the origins, definitions, and evolving understandings of neurodivergence, with a focus on conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other cognitive variations. Participants will examine how these differences have historically been pathologized, how perspectives have shifted toward strengths-based and inclusive approaches, and how the neurodiversity movement has reshaped education, work, and community life.
