Anger, Power, and Safety: Supporting Big Feelings in Little Bodies
This course provides early childhood educators with a comprehensive framework for understanding and supporting children’s emotional development. Participants will explore the neuroscience of anger, gaining insight into why young children react so strongly and how their developing brains process stress and emotion. Through the lens of co-regulation, educators will learn how to provide the calm, consistent presence children need to feel safe and supported. Practical strategies will be emphasized throughout the course, including tools for safe expression of anger, compassionate boundary-setting, and the cultivation of emotional literacy. (1 hour)
