Play Matters: Fostering Development in School-Age Children
In this course, we explore the critical role of play in the development of school-age children. Play is not just a leisure activity; it is a spontaneous, voluntary, pleasurable, and flexible activity that children engage in for its own sake. Through play, children explore their world, express their inner thoughts and feelings, develop physical skills, learn social rules and norms, and absorb cultural values. Participants will gain a deep understanding of how play contributes to children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. We will explore strategies for recognizing and supporting various forms of play, ensuring that children have rich and meaningful play experiences that promote their overall growth and well-being.
