About this Course
The term toddler refers to a child who is developing motor skills and transitioning between infancy and early childhood. Children in this stage are called toddlers because they “toddle” as they learn to walk, run, climb, and explore their environment. This course provides students with an understanding of the physical growth patterns and developmental milestones of toddlers from 18 to 36 months of age. Students will examine gross- and fine-motor skill development, including movement, coordination, balance, and self-help abilities. The course emphasizes strategies for promoting healthy physical development through developmentally appropriate activities, play experiences, and supportive learning environments. In addition, students will learn to recognize signs of potential developmental delays, understand the importance of early intervention, and follow professional guidelines for communicating developmental concerns with parents and families in a respectful and collaborative manner. 🌟 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🌟 ✔️ Washington State Nexport courses are not approved in Washington state to meet annual STARS training requirements.
