About this Course

This course provides an overview of the physical development, motor skills, and growth patterns of preschool-aged children from 4 to 5 years of age. Students will explore the developmental milestones typically achieved during the preschool years, including advancements in gross-motor skills, fine-motor coordination, balance, strength, and independence in everyday activities. The course examines how play-based learning experiences and developmentally appropriate activities support healthy physical growth and skill development. Students will learn strategies for creating engaging environments that encourage movement, coordination, and overall physical well-being in young children. In addition, the course emphasizes the importance of recognizing indicators of growth and physical developmental delays. Students will learn to identify potential concerns, understand the role of early intervention, and follow professional guidelines when communicating developmental observations with parents and families.
