About this Course

Employees and job applicants who believe they have experienced unlawful workplace discrimination have rights and protections under federal law. This course provides an overview of the process for filing a charge of discrimination with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Participants will learn about the purpose of a discrimination charge, situations that may warrant filing a complaint, and the various ways individuals can submit a charge to the EEOC. The course also examines the actions the EEOC may take after a charge is filed, including charge review, investigation procedures, mediation opportunities, and potential outcomes. Learners will gain an understanding of the EEOC's role in enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws and ensuring fair treatment in the workplace. In addition, the course explores alternative dispute resolution methods often used by federal agencies to address discrimination complaints, including mediation and other conflict-resolution approaches. Participants will also learn about employer responsibilities and actions when involved in a discrimination charge, including responding to allegations, cooperating with investigations, maintaining documentation, and complying with applicable employment laws. 🌟 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🌟 ✔️ Washington State Nexport courses are not approved in Washington state to meet annual STARS training requirements.
